PUSH!

A visual chronicle of youth on wheels, carving their paths onto adulthood.

2024 - ongoing

For these groups of young people, skating isn’t just about tricks or style. It’s about freedom, self-expression, and the illustrious feeling that they can conquer the world. Their long days and nights on the streets and at the parks teach them how to not only fall courageously, but to rise up relentlessly, and persist in carving their own line in a world that’s always trying to draw it for them. Through bruised hips, heartbreaks, and tender moments of contemplations, they’re collectively discovering not just who they are, but who they might become.

These photographs are my attempt at capturing the thrills, agonies, and the beautiful chaotic mess of their morphing into bloom. To trace the invisible line between their childhood and everything after; it’s a story of friendship, resilience, and the strange grace found in imperfection. Through skating, they find meaning, and a bond that can only form between those pushing towards something fleeting together, even when they don’t yet know what it is.
